Later in the month, our good friends over at Taste of the Wight will be welcoming foodie royalty to the Island, when Prue Leith OBE crosses the Solent for ‘Taste – An evening With Prue Leith’.
Taste of the Wight are hosting an evening of fabulous food by Lakeside Park Hotel Head Chef, Luke Holder (podcast to come shortly on VB) with an after dinner talk by Prue Leith on her journey from cook to novelist.
You’d have to have been living in the dark ages to have not heard of Prue Leith, her culinary pedigree is outstanding.
Born and educated in Cape Town, she went on to create a Michelin-starred quality food empire in London that included Leith’s School of Food and Wine and Leith’s (Michelin starred restaurant).
As well as many cookery books, including Leith’s Cookery Bible, she has written three novels and is now best known as a judge on the BBC television programme Great British Menu.
The evening kicks off at 7pm and includes a 6 course seasonal tasting menu devised by Luke Holder including Bembridge crab, Island asparagus and new season lamb.
Monday 20th April is the date to in your diaries and the The Lakeside Park Hotel in Wootton is the location to head for.
