Teenagers arrested in connection with thefts, harassment and criminal damage

Officers investigating a number of offences in Freshwater, including a burglary, have arrested two boys.

Police were called at 4.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 11th January) with reports of a burglary in progress at an empty address in Avenue Road, Freshwater.

Attending officers arrested two teenage boys from Freshwater nearby, aged 13 and 14 respectively.

Offences
They were arrested on suspicion of burglary, but were also arrested on suspicion of the following offences:

  • Theft of Red Bull from Sainsbury’s on School Green Road in Freshwater on 5th January 2023.
  • Harassment, relating to an incident at Sainsbury’s on School Green Road in Freshwater on 7th January 2023.
  • Theft of coffee cups from Sainsbury’s on School Green Road in Freshwater on 7th January 2023.
  • Criminal damage to a door at Sainsbury’s on School Green Road in Freshwater on 6th January 2023.
  • Theft of chocolate from Sainsbury’s on School Green Road in Freshwater on 9th January 2023.

The 13-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of two further criminal damage incidents, relating to damage to doors and a window at an address on Queens Road, Freshwater on 2nd January and 4th January 2023.
