Tomorrow night sees the final performance of Invent Theatre’s latest production, The Button Box.
The play was written and is directed by Ventnor lad, Jack Whitewood. Given that Jack will be heading off to University in September, he’s hardly a ‘lad’ anymore but despite his tender years, he always manages to create such thought provoking scripts.
The quality of acting from the group has been outstanding and if you haven’t managed to catch the performance at either Quay Arts, Bembridge or Whitwell, tomorrow night is your chance as the production heads to Trinity Theatre in Cowes.
As we said back in 2006 after seeing the first performance of The Bench in the Park at Medina Theatre, we reckon Jack Whitewood is a writer with great talent who will go far.
We felt so strongly about the potential for the Invent Theatre Group which Jack created back in 2007, that we accepted an invitation to be on the governing board back and continue to this day to support the group.
Do try and see the play tomorrow night, tickets are just £5 and you won’t be disappointed.
All photography for the group has been created by
Annie Leonard, another rising star from Ventnor.
