Starting this week at the Ventnor Winter Gardens is the 2008 panto from the Ventnor Theatre Group, The Twelve Days of Christmas.
In true panto style, the Queen is to throw a grand Festive Ball for all the villagers on Christmas Day and, to mark the occasion, a giant advent calendar has been built with 12 doors, to be opened one each day.
Christmas cannot begin until all the doors are open, but a villainous wicked wizard is determined to stop the festivities and scatters the keys all over the world.
Helped by the Christmas Fairy and even Santa himself, our assortment of characters including a handsome prince, madcap village idiots, a pretty heroine and an outrageous dame, embark on a hilarious race against time, with adventures in such exotic locations as Egypt, Latin America, Paris and the Land of Snow and Ice.
Will the final key be retrieved on Christmas Eve in time to save Christmas? With dazzling costumes, the fun and frolics will have you laughing out loud and with fabulous songs, choreography and music we’re sure your toes will be tapping all the way home.
Tickets are now available from the Winter Gardens Box Office, at just £6.50 adults and £5.50 children.
Performances will be held at Ventnor Winter Gardens on Thursday 11th, Friday 12th, Saturday 13th December at 7.30pm, with a Sunday matinee on the 14th December at 2.30pm.
