Thee Waxworks Live at the Winter Gardens

If you’re a regular VB reader you’ll know that we’re big fans of Island band Thee Waxworks.

Thee Waxworks Live at the Winter GardensThe four piece, who all learnt how to play instruments so they could form the band, have been working their smelly socks off on a load of new tracks which they’ll be giving an outing to this coming Friday.

Yes, the long awaited next live performance is almost upon us. Thee Waxworks will be playing live in the upstairs bar at the Winter Gardens at the monthly Psycho Beat gig.

Entry is just £3 FREE and before after the live performance, local DJs will be spinning their very best garage punk vinyl.

If you haven’t heard Thee Waxworks before, they describe themselves as a voodoo-swamp-blues-garage-punk band with their influences coming from the likes of The Velvet Underground, The Cramps and Jawbone.

Their recently released EP, Altamont, received a proud review with the Norman Records who said the title track, ‘Altamont’, “is something like a trashy old garage style Fall tribute that’s escaped down the hill on the back of an out of control milkfloat with Gallon Drunk & David Cronenbourg’s Wife chasing it in hot pursuit.”
