Totland Pier: Wooldridge Group to launch new restaurant by Easter 2024

Totland Pier, a renowned landmark in the West Wight, is undergoing some pivotal changes under its latest ownership, the Wooldridge Group.

Restaurant revamp at the wet end
Robbie Lane from IW Guru got in touch with News OnTheWight to share his latest short video (below) of the pier for those who can’t get out West.

He’d been speaking with Sophie from the Surrey-based Wooldridge Group, who revealed that subject to change, they’re are intending to start work this winter and open the restaurant in Spring 2024.

New plans for the Bay Cafe
In addition to the restaurant, the owners are revisiting the purpose of the Bay Cafe located at the pier’s dry end.

Sophie confirmed to News OnTheWight it was the Group’s intention to submit another planning application, with plans to transform the cafe into accommodation.

Rather than self-contained holiday lodgings — which was rejected by the council’s planning department – the space is envisioned to serve as rooms, specifically catering to the guests of the new restaurant.

The ownership baton for Totland Pier was passed to the Wooldridge Group in November 2022.

A dynamic transformation
With these fresh plans in store, Totland Pier seems to be set for a dynamic transformation that should interest both locals and tourists alike.
