The campaign to raise much needed cash for Ventnor Skate Park continues with news of an official launch party for the CD taking place at the end of the month.
For those of you who have already purchased your copy of Transitions Volume One (thank you), you’ll know that the quality of music on it is excellent.
Well, in three weeks time, you can see some of the same bands perform live at (a hopefully packed) Ventnor Winter Gardens.
Already confirmed are Bestival Band Competition Winners, The Shanklin Freak Show and The Chancers. But it won’t just be live music, there’ll also be some quality DJs playing on the night too and a chance to win local celebrity memorabilia in the raffle.
It’ll only cost you £2.50 (yes, £2.50!) to get in and you can buy your copy of the CD there too, so make sure you bring enough cash with you – no more excuses!
We’ll be releasing details of the lineup shortly, but in the meantime, make sure you keep Sunday 24th August free for what’s promising to be a top bank holiday party.
Anyone who heard the early morning news reports last Friday on IW Radio News that the future of the Skate Park was uncertain, fear not, it seems that they got their facts mixed up.
As we reported back in June, the lease has been signed and work is in progress to renovate the skate park.
More news coming soon.
Copy of the CDs are available from The Ventnorian in Spring Hill, Switch45, Wight Mountain in Newport, Earth Wind and Water in Shanklin and Revolver in Ryde, as well as through VentnorBlog and the Wight Trash website.
