VB received a number of queries from readers over the weekend about a reported kidnapping that had taken place on the Island.
Police have told VB, “A man was seen being pushed into a van in Newport in suspicious circumstances at around 8pm on Friday evening (March 30). However, following extensive police enquiries the parties involved were traced and no offences were disclosed.”
Two arrested, then released
They went on to confirm that “two men, aged 29 and 39, were arrested by officers from Hampshire Constabulary, and have been released without further action. All parties involved are believed were known to each other.”
