Cowes-based charity UKSA Maritime Academy aims to raise extra funds to help even more young people take to the water, with a thrilling skydiving event on 6 June 2009.
Full training will be given and no experience is necessary, so if you ever fancied a jump from 10,000 feet in a tandem skydive with a fully experienced instructor, this is your chance to make the leap and raise money for one of the UK’s most worthwhile charities.
UKSA: Spreading sailing skills
UKSA is a not-for-profit organisation, yet is widely recognised as the world’s leading maritime training organisation for young people, professional yachtsmen and leisure sailors alike. Each year the academy trains thousands of young people, largely from disadvantaged backgrounds, introducing them to the fun, excitement and challenges of sailing, encouraging personal growth and development in the process.
Helen Bournat, Principal Fundraiser at UKSA, commented “What better way to kick start the summer than by raising money for charity in such a thrilling way! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we hope to get as many people as possible testing their courage and signing up for the UKSA jump. We’re very happy on the water, now it’s time to take to the air!”
Participants need to raise a minimum of £395 in order to jump for free with £140 going directly to UKSA. Any extra funds raised over the minimum will go straight to the charity.
If you would like to take part in the jump email [email protected] or call 07774 895931 for a full information pack.
