A great bulletin was doing the rounds on MySpace yesterday thanks to The Development Suite. It spread news of a chance for any unsigned bands or musicians to enter a competition hosted by Orange and Channel4.
The winner of the show gets signed to Universal – with £50,000 cash advance, album and single.

The battle will be hosted by Alex Zane and is in collaboration with Orange Unsigned Act, Channel 4 and 4Music. It’ll be a nationwide battle and open to all genres of music and including singers/songwriters.
All you have to do to take part is register online.
Stage one is down to the public to vote via the Web site for the first 25 acts. The production team and Universal’s A+R will then hand pick another 25.
The lucky 50 bands/musicians will then go on to the shows which will air on Channel 4 (on T4) and also on the new 4Music channel in a prime-time slot.
