Simon popped into see Tom and share our choice of things you can get up to on the Island over the next seven days, starting with a plug for a photographic exhibition that this nearly coming to an end.
Brian Williams LRPS has featured many times before on VB and his latest exhibition at Ryde Library definitely deserves checking out. Running until the end of the month, “Never stand when you can sit” is a great collection of shots inspired by some wise words from his grandfather.
For the evening, we recommend heading over toe The Old Comical in Sandown for Reggie Balmoral and the Chester Longman Band for Reg Against The Machine.
Saturday night brings more music legends back to the scene when the Pumphouse Gang play a charity gig at Ryde Castle in memory of Sue Oxford.
Sunday sees more fund raising for the Hospice which another fantastic recital at the Winter Gardens, this time with violinist Steve Bingham
Our star event for the weekend however, has got to the Pickled Onion Competition on Sunday. Taking place at The Woodvale in Gurnard for the 9th year, this has got to be a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The pickled onmions are judged by us the public and the winners awarded from a range of prizes.
