Vectis Radio Community Awards 2025 celebrate outstanding contributions on the Isle of Wight

The third Vectis Radio Isle of Wight Community Awards ceremony was held at Caffe Isola on Friday (28th March).

Over 90 people were in the Newport Restaurant to witness the awards being presented by The High Sheriff, Graham Biss. Interval entertainment was provided by Huxley Magic adding to the overall fun of the evening.

Maggie Currie, who organised the event, said,

“This third year of our awards was an amazing success. The atmosphere was buzzing and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The support from all the organisations for each other was humbling to see.”

She continued,

“I am so pleased with the success of the event and how it raises awareness of these organisations, a number of which I had never heard of. I’d like to thank the panel of independent judges who had a real task on their hands making their choices, and I’d like to thank Stef Burgess from Caffe Isola for sponsoring the event.

  • Bronze – Care in the Garden

Volunteer of the Year

Mac: Let’s continue to celebrate and support them all year round
Ian Mac, Vectis Radio Station Manager and co-compere for the evening, said,

“Once again I was humbled to be in the same room as all of these people who work tirelessly for our Island community.

“Let’s continue to celebrate and support them all year round. Without their tireless work, this island would grind to a halt.”

He continued,

“I must also thank our headline sponsors for this year, Caffe Isola.

“Without their huge support, we wouldn’t have been able to put on such a great evening.”
