Ventbags Featured on IW Radio And Meridian TodayIf you’re a regular listener to Isle of Wight radio, you will have noticed that the first item on the hourly news all day has been the story about Ventnor going plastic carrier bag free by September 2008. They got in touch with organisers of the scheme after reading the story on VentnorBlog on Tuesday.

Angie Pullen who is also organising the Make a Bag Make a Change project (more to follow on this later) was also interviewed today in Ventnor, along with Ventnor Mayor Susan Scoccia about the project, by Dave Russell, otherwise known as Meridian Dave. The feature will go out sometime between now and Tuesday on Meridian News.

Tune into Isle of Wight radio at 6pm tonight to hear the full feature with Michael Coombes.

There is another Make a Bag session at the Community Projects this Sunday from 2pm, 1 Albert Street. Donations of spare fabric can be dropped in during that session or at The Ventnorian.

Great to hear Ventnor being so forward thinking. This project and the one to make the bags is brilliant.
