Ventnor 2010 Team Launch Poster Competition

If you’re an Island artist or graphic designer you could be in with a chance of not only winning yourself a generous cash prize, but also the opportunity to benefit from the sale of your work.

Ventnor 2010 Team Launch Poster CompetitionArtists and designers are being invited to design a limited edition poster which will be used to launch a new ‘arts extravaganza’ in Ventnor.

Aiming to showcase Island talent, Ventnor 2010 is a new three-day arts festival due to take place in Ventnor over the early May Bank Holiday next year.

The festival will include a wide range of arts, such as music, literature, film and drama, with performances, workshops, competitions and interactive events. Having heard some of the ideas being pitched, it all sounds very exciting.

Organisers of the festival tell us that this competition is the first of many initiatives to be launched over the coming months.

So what’s on offer?
If you’re responsible for creating the winning poster, you’ll be walking off with £200 cash. Add to that royalties from the limited edition posters which will be on sale around the town and could you be clocking up a tidy sum.

Who’s behind the new festival?
You’re probably wondering who who is behind this exciting new festival. Step forward four Ventnorians – Philip Oxley, Janneke Oxley, Chris Bonney and Gillian Jenner.

All four are hugely passionate about creating a festival for all to enjoy that will result in a net benefit for the Ventnor community.

“Our aim is to create economic opportunities for Ventnor and to have a positive impact on Ventnor’s communities young and old,” they say.

“We want this to be an inspirational festival that is inclusive and brilliantly entertaining.”
