Many gathered at Ventnor beach for the now-traditional Ventnor Boxing Day Swim, raising money for PATCH, an Island cancer charity.
Over a hundred people braved the choppy waters and high tide, while over a thousand spectators looked on from the dry of the Esplanade.
Many people came long in fancy dress, with even a few mankinis on show this year.
Those entering the water will have been grateful that this year temperatures were considerably higher than the snow-covered affair of last Winter.
