Ventnorians and Islanders will be, like us, very sad to hear that Fay Brown, the font of Ventnor historical knowledge, sadly passed away on Sunday afternoon.
Fay had been unwell for sometime and had recently been receiving care from the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
She was a stalwart of the Ventnor and District Local History Society and had been publishing her fascinating column on historical events in the local newsletter, The South Wight Chronicle, for many years. She was also heavily involved with the Ventnor Heritage Museum.
Fay will be greatly missed by all who knew her and our thoughts go out to her family and friends.
