On Sunday evening, Isle of Wight skateboarder, Theo Bridgeman, posted a video to Facebook, with the intention of being able to attract enough shares to get a challenge going with a fellow skateboarder from San Diego.
Californian, Jeromy Green, racked up over six million views of his latest skateboarding video over a variety of social media sites last week, after his video went viral.
Whilst grabbing attention with his own video, emulating Jeromy’s neat trick of switching between two skateboards whilst riding the half-pipe, Theo has managed to draw even more attention to the Ventnor Skatepark challenge.
He hasn’t quite hit the six million mark yet, but Theo’s video has attracted over 21,500 views in just 24 hours.
Brilliant awareness-raising
Setting aside the challenge to Jeromy Green, Theo’s hopefully brought new attention to the 12 month challenge to raise enough cash to replace the current plywood ramps with a proper concrete skatepark.
If you haven’t donated yet, you can do it through the GoFundMe page.
By the way, if you’re wondering what’s so great about skateboarding, we suggest you take a read of this recent comment left by Theo – he sets it all out perfectly.
Check out the two videos …..
