We’ve got everything crossed this afternoon for the team at Ventnor hairdressing salon, The Hair Shack.
They’ve been nominated for a prestigious award in the 2015 Salon Business Awards.
If you’ve read our feature on the salon or been along in person, you won’t be surprised to hear they’ve been nominated in the ‘Green Salon of the Year’ category.
Owner, Carol Falkner, prides herself on the green credentials of the salon, which as well as using organic hair colours, uses Vegan products and recycles as much as possible.
Support from customers
The salon has been receiving good luck wishes (including champagne and chocolates) from customers and other Ventnor businesses in the last week.
Our favourite has to be this beautiful silver replica pendant of Carol’s very own scissors, made by the steady hands of local silversmith, Sophie Honeybourne.
The team are in London today for the award ceremony and we should find out later today how they got on.
Well, we say ‘a huge well done’ for getting this far, but if you get even further, that’s a bonus!

Sadly, the Hair Shack didn’t bring the award home, but we reckon they’re winners anyway.
