Ventnor’s next ‘Our Place’ session offers access support and advice, as well as a free hot meal

Ventnor’ s next Our Place session takes place at St. Catherine’s Church on Thursday 25th January from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

These community sessions enable residents to meet representatives from a range of local and Island-wide agencies to access advice, support or just for a chat over a cuppa or a meal.

What to expect
Organisations attending regularly each month have included Citizens Advice, Wight Sense, Ventnor Community Shed, Ventnor Community Foodbank, People Matter, Ventnor’s Police Community Support Officer, Smoke Stop, Baby Box Isle of Wight, Veteran’s Outreach, Barnardo’s, IoW Prostate Cancer Support Group and Living-well Early Help.

Community Action’s Health Roadshow
This month we are pleased to welcome Community Action’s Health Roadshow.

A chance to meet peer support groups and other organisations who may be able to offer help and advice – including Break Out Youth, Breatheasy, Diabetes IW, Applegate Cancer Support, IW MS Society, Menopause IW and Sjogrens Syndrome Support Group.

There will also be representatives from the IW NHS Trust to talk about the new Patient Diagnostic Centre at St Mary’s and other NHS projects.

Warm Space initiative
A group of volunteers prepare the hot lunch provided at the event, and every Thursday at this venue, as part of Ventnor’s Warm Space initiative. The hot meal is served from 12.00 noon.

Thanks to St Catherine’s Church for their support and our fabulous team of volunteers.
