Ventnor’s ‘Our Place’: A hub for community support and local agencies

On Thursday 28th September from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm, Ventnor Town Council and partner agencies will be resuming our monthly ‘Our Place’ session at St Catherine’s Church.

The event brings together groups from the local voluntary and community sector with Island-wide agencies. Organisations attending are likely to include our local PCSO, Citizen’s Advice, People Matter, Living Well & Early Help, Veteran’s Outreach Support, Barnardo’s, Ventnor Community Shed, Ventnor Well-being Cafe, Sight for Wight, and Baby Box Isle of Wight.

Next dates are 23rd November and 21st December. There will be no session in October.

Many thanks to the congregation and Church Wardens at St Catherine’s Church for supporting and hosting the event.

Informal chat over a cup of tea
There will be free tea, coffee and cake and the opportunity to talk to representatives of these organisations to access support or have an informal chat.

It’s a chance to meet with groups and agencies that don’t have a permanent base in Ventnor.

Thursday lunch club
The event also includes our regular weekly Thursday lunch club – a group of volunteers have come together to offer a free lunch every Thursday as a part of the Town Council’s Warm Spaces scheme.

This has been running every week since January 2023

St Catherine’s warm space
St Catherine’s warm space is also open, for coffee tea and cake, every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 10:30 to 12:30, it is free, and donations are appreciated.
