The shop local competition run by Ventnor Rotary Club has now ended and the club would like to thank all the shops and customers who participated to make the scheme the success it was.
The three winners were first Joan Garlick, second Sally Peake and third Susan Jackson.
Ventnor bucking the national trend
The winner received vouchers worth £50 to be spent in the participating shops while the runners up received a consolation prize of some chocolates.
Ventnor does seem to be bucking the national trend of high street shops closing such that there is almost nothing that can’t be bought locally.
