Volunteers needed for Isle of Wight Children’s Festival: Sign up today

Those wonderful folk from the Isle of Wight Children’s Festival are on the lookout for volunteers to help with this year’s festival, taking place in Newport on 21st and 22nd April 2022.

Volunteers provide the crucial people power that help makes the event happen and given the hiatus due to Covid-19 they need help now more than ever.

A range of roles
Mhairi Macaulay from Isle of Wight Children’s Festival explains,

“We always try to find a role suitable for you based on the information you give us so please let us know as much as possible about what you might like to do if you have something in mind.”

There are several types of roles on offer, when you complete the application form, just let the team know which one suits you best.

Stewards 
This role includes manning the entrances to events, selling tickets and ticking off audience members that have already bought tickets.

This also includes making sure audiences get to their seats promptly and safely taking into account any access needs.

Box Office Team
Selling tickets to shows at Ventnor Exchange Box Office – must have polite and friendly manner with the general public and able to use computer systems and handle money responsibly.

Involves answering the phone and selling tickets.

Build n’ Break Team 
We always need extra hands to put the festival together so looking for people who can handle heavy lifting or have good practical skills to helps us build and break the festival.
