Sheldon: We are keen to hear your suggestions
Mrs Susie Sheldon, the Lord-Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight said,

“I would like to invite our Island residents to vote and tell us, where they would like to see His Majesty King Charles III coronation tree planted.

“We have suggested two suitable sites, which are Northwood House Park and Appley Park, but we are also keen to hear your suggestions. Once the vote has taken place and we have our location winner, we can then choose a tree that best suits that area.”

Critchison: A lasting legacy for our community
Chairman of the council, Councillor Claire Critchison, said,

“Planting a tree to mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III will leave a lasting legacy for our community and it’s great that Island people can help pick where that will be.”

The Lieutenancy, the council and many organisations and individuals previously planted trees in 2022 to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and as part of the national Queen’s Green Canopy campaign.
