The bluebells are out early this year, so those registered to Walk the Wight, might not get to see them as they trundle across the Island in two weeks time.
Sunday 13th May sees the return of Walk The Wight, the annual fundraising event in aid of The Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
The hospice is the only one of it’s kind on the Island and has been running since 1982. They care for around three quarters of all cancer patients as well as other patients with life-shortening diseases, such as motor neurone disease, congestive heart disease and renal failure.
According to their website, although they do receive Government funding, the difference between that and their running costs is over £2 million, so events such as this are vital to the continuing support that the hospice can offer to Island residents.
If you wish to take part in the walk, unfortunately, it’s too late to register now, so why not sponsor someone else who is walking.
Our 6 year old is doing the final four mile leg of the walk, so anyone wanting to sponsor her little legs, let us know.
