Waterside Community Trust goes into local schools to plant trees

As part of a successful grant application, Waterside Pool was able to purchase over 300 saplings, some of which were planted at Waterside, with the rest being distributed to local schools to plant and grow on their school grounds.

Miller: A way of giving back
This may seem a bit of a unusual project for a local swimming pool, however Todd Miller, the General Manager, applied for the grant in an effort to improve the local wildlife, air quality and as a way of giving back to the schools that support the centre.

Taking part
The schools involved in the project were Wootton, Godshill, Five Ways, Queensgate, St Mary’s, Haylands, Brading, Ryde School and Greenmount.
