The charity, Way Forward Programme, based in Newport, is preparing for its annual summer show, which promises to be an entertaining event for the local community.
On 28th June 2024, Medina Theatre will host “Thank You for the Music,” a performance inspired by the popular film and musical “Mamma Mia,” but with a unique Greek twist.
A unique take on a beloved classic
The storyline centres around Donna, who finds herself perplexed by the arrival of her ex-god boyfriends on her special island. As she navigates these surprising encounters, her daughter Sophie embarks on a quest to discover the identity of her real father.
Sophie’s search is complicated by the fact that her potential fathers are none other than some of the most powerful Greek gods. This twist adds a mythical layer to the well-known plot, ensuring that the audience can expect a blend of familiar faces and new characters.
Sing along to classic hits
As with any rendition of “Mamma Mia,” music plays a pivotal role. The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy classic ABBA hits alongside other popular songs. The performance encourages viewers to clap their hands and sing along, making it a truly interactive experience.
Way Forward Programme’s summer show promises not only a delightful narrative, but also plenty of fun and surprises. This event is an excellent opportunity for the community to come together and support adults with learning disabilities.

The Way Forward Programme works tirelessly to support adults with learning disabilities, offering a range of activities and opportunities designed to enhance their quality of life.
