Update: The road was opened ahead of schedule in both directions on Saturday morning.
Residents and visitors are reminded that Horsebridge Hill will be fully closed again this weekend to allow further infrastructure work to continue.
The closure begins at 8pm on Friday 4th July and runs until 6am on Monday 7th July.
Diversion route and parking restrictions
The existing diversion route will continue to operate in both directions throughout the weekend closure.
To ensure traffic can move freely, a clearway order will be in place on both sides of Pallance Road, meaning no stopping or parking is permitted along that stretch.
Traffic light changes to support safety
Temporary traffic lights will remain at the Whitehouse Road and Corf Road junction.
In addition, four-way traffic lights will be installed at the Forest Road and Whitehouse Road junction to make it safer for vehicles exiting the side roads.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time for journeys and follow all signage in place.
