Welsh outdoor pursuit centre may finally be sold

A property in Wales owned by the Isle of Wight council, which since the 1980s and up until 2009 was used by Island schools as a residential outdoor pursuit centre for school trips, may soon be sold.

A Delegated Decision notice has been released today, revealing that the council have received an offer of £100,000 on the property, with Cabinet member Cllr George Brown being advised to approve the sale.

The centre was closed back in 2009 after Environmental Health officers advised of “a number of improvements required to the building”.

Residential retreats planned for property
The council have been trying to sell the property since but have been hit with problems in relation to planning.

The offer for the property is from “an applicant seeking to use the site for residential retreats, including activities such as circle dancing and Jacuzzi spas”.

The property details can be found on Right Move and the Delegated Decision Notice is embedded below for your convenience.
