Wet leg at St Catherine's Point

Wet Leg’s Angelica a tribute to oldest friend: Vogue feature, US tour and more for Isle of Wight band

Isle of Wight band, Wet Leg, had their latest single premiered on BBC Radio 6Music channel today (Monday).

Steve Lamacq, introduced the new single, Angelica, on his afternoon show (73 mins in), referring to the band members Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers on first name terms.

Good times all the time
The track is named after the lovely Angelica, one of Rhian’s oldest friends, and is another corker of a track.

Rhian Teasdale from the band says,

“It’s laced with disenchantment even though the chorus is good times all the time.”

If you were hoping there’d be another episode of Wet Leg on film, you’re in for a treat.

Crossing the pond
The band are heading over in the U. S. of A. this week, for their second tour in the States, playing to sold out shows in Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston and New York among many others, not to mention Portland and Tucson which we reckon will be right up their street.

The band will be back in the UK from the beginning of April for their debut album release (see more about that below).

Vogue: “The World’s Buzziest New Band”
The band from the Isle of Wight have been featured in music mags around the World over the last year, but this month have also made it into iconic fashion magazine, Vogue.

An interview with Corey Seymour reveals just a few more snippets of info about the Islanders that you might not have already known and refers to the Wet Leg as “The World’s Buzziest New Band”.

Wet Leg’s debut album
The band has achieved a meteoric rise to fame since signing with Domino Records last year. They’ve picked up accolades galore and sold out live shows around the World.

Their debut album, Wet Leg, comes out on 8th April 2022 on Domino Records.

You can preorder your copy directly from the band’s Website or locally through Ventnor Exchange or AAA Records in Newport.
