Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale collaborates with Orlando Weeks on new single from album recorded on the Island

Isle of Wight’s Rhian Teasdale (one of Wet Leg’s founders and lead singer) is in the music press again this week, thanks to a collaboration with Orlando Weeks from The Maccabees.

Orlando is due to release his third solo album later in the year, but this week a single from the album titled ‘Dig’ hit the streaming sites.

Collaboration
Rhian features on the single, sparking speculation among Wet Leg fans that a split is imminent. Plenty of artists collaborate with other artists without bands breaking up, so we’re still looking forward to the much-anticipated second album from the Isle of Wight band which also features co-founder Hester Chambers, as well as Ellis Durand, Henry Holmes and Josh Mobaraki.

Recorded on the Isle of Wight
Rhian’s appearance on the track with Orlando is not the only Isle of Wight connection. The album, LOJA, was actually recorded on the Island too, at Chale Abbey Studios with producer Sergio Maschetzko (Black Country New Road) and his collaborator, Islander David Granshaw. The bulk of the album recorded in thirteen days.

Listen to it live
If you’re interested in Orlando’s album, it will be launched to coincide with the start of a residence at The Copeland Gallery, London between 6th and 9th June (6th/7th already sold out), where he’ll be exhibiting paintings, sketches and prints he created.

The daytime event will be followed by an evening gig where Orlando will perform the album live.

Watch the video
Unfortunately videos are not playing on here at the moment (annoying, but true), however you can watch the Dig video on YouTube.

See Orlando’s website for more information, and Wet Leg’s for theirs.
