Last weekend, we were lucky enough to be invited along to dine at the Priory Bay Hotel.
If you’re a regular reader, you’ll have seen our features promoting an evening of fine food and a chance to meet two of the long-term actors who appear in The Archers.
The evening’s events took place in the Regency dining room at the Priory which is decorated with beautiful murals by the Crace Brothers dating back to 1810, that depict picturesque views of the Island.
An evening of anecdotes
Before we tucked into the delicious food being served, we were introduced to Charles Collingwood and Judy Bennett, who play Brian Aldridge and Shula Archer, and who are in fact, husband and wife in real life.
During the evening, Charles kept us entertained with anecdotes about his career and after the meal, diners had the opportunity to buy a copy of his latest book and get it signed in person. Lots of early Christmas presents were seen flying off the table.
After the diners had gone home, we caught a few minutes with Charles and Judy.
