Who Writes The Isle of Wight Corporate Plan?

Well, we know that the political leadership of the IW Council has control over the Corporate Plan, but who has a considerable influence over it?

Quiz: Where and When Is the Bonchurch Quiz Night? The Corporate Plan was developed in conjunction with a body called Island Strategic Partnership, or ISP as it’s abbreviated.

It has taken us a little digging to find out who makes up the ISP.

It looks like it’s made up of two parts, The Board – which provides the direction, governance, monitoring and scrutiny of the ISP; and The Executive – which is declared to “support the ISP Board by bringing together the Chief Executives of influential organisations with the ability to get things done in their organisations.”

The ISP Board
The board members are

  • The Isle of Wight Council Leader
  • Chair, IW NHS Primary Care Trust
  • Chair of the Health and Wellbeing Partnership Board
  • Chair of the IW Children’s Trust
  • Chair of the Economic and Environment Partnership Board
  • Chair of the Safer and Stronger Partnership Board
  • Chair, IW Rural Community Council
  • Chair, Island Council of Churches

In addition to this, what is called the Ex Officio invitees, make up the rest

  • Chair of the ISP Executive
  • Representative of the South East England Development Agency
  • Representative of the Government Office of the South East

The ISP Executive

  • Chief Executive of the Isle of Wight Council
  • Chief Executive of the Isle of Wight NHS Primary Care Trust
  • Island Police Commander
  • Chief Executive of the Rural Community Council
  • A representative of the South East England Development Agency
  • The Government Office of the South East will be invited to attend and observe the Executive meetings.

Names?
Given these people are deciding what is happening to the Island, it would be good to know a little about these people – their names would be a good starting point.

We couldn’t find a list of the names of these people, but assume by visiting the Websites of each of the organisations, it would be something that could eventually be found. It would have been easier to just have their names on the site, as we just don’t have the time to do it.
