Quick update on Wight Airlines, that we reviewed back in August.
As some of you may know the service has been suspended for a while, as they separated from British NorthWest Airlines, which held the CAA Operators licence.
We spoke to Chris Williams today (founder of Wight Airlines) and he said they were now separately licensed and the planes are there ready to go. All that they’re waiting for is a certificate of approval from the Civil Aviation Authority for the extension to Sandown airport runway.
He said as soon as it was through, they’d be operating the service again. With the change in weather coming it will be best to check with them (402 402) that scheduled flights are operating.
