Wight Satin Return Tired But Happy

If you were wondering how ladies barbershop choir, Wight Satin, got on in the recent convention, read on. Ed

Wight Satin returned tired but happy from their epic weekend in a very windy Llandudno, North Wales, where they competed in the recent Ladies’ Barbershop Chorus contest on Saturday 30th October.

The chorus sang so well that they increased their scores from the previous year in two out of the three judging categories (singing and music), and held steady in the third (presentation). Plans are already in place for next year’s preliminary regional qualifying heats, which are due to take place in April.

11th place for quartet
Island Edition, the quartet of four friends from the chorus, were thrilled to win 11th place in the first quartet contest that they have entered since the current line-up got together just under a year ago.

You can hear Wight Satin sing at the forthcoming Osborne House Christmas event on 20th and 21st November.

New members welcome
This really is a great time to join Wight Satin, and all you need to do to get involved is turn up at Carisbrooke Primary School on a Thursday evening from 7.30 PM to see what a lot of fun you can have with us.

There is no age limit; you don’t need to read music. If you love to sing and can hold a tune, you’ll be welcome. Call Jenny on 01983 566498 for more information, or visit our web site
