Wight Trash Transitions Launch PartyWe know that theres are loads of things going on this weekend, but one event you can’t afford to miss is the Wight Trash Transitions Launch Party which takes place at the Ventnor Winter Gardens.

It takes place on Sunday evening, kicking off at 7.30pm and for just £2.50 entrance you can enjoy five Island bands and three DJs, as well as a musical memorabilia raffle, with donations from the likes of Radio One DJ and Bestival Head Honcho, Rob Da Bank.

All the bands playing live are featured in the fundraising CD, Transitions Volume One, and include The Shanklin Freak Show who recently put on a fantastic show at Ryde Theatre.

Also also stage on Sunday night will be the brilliant band from Ryde and old time VB favourites, The Chancers.

Making their debut appearance on the Wight will be The Waxworks who plan to preserve their mysteriousness by playing in balaclavas. Also playing will be Finger Monster and Hugo Frusslinky.

Doing their magic on the decks will be DJs Louis Soteriou, Lectrolux and George Cross.

There will also be copies of the CD for sale on the night, for just £10 you can get yourself a limited edition compilation of 22 tracks from Island bands. All money from the sales goes straight back into the project to pay for hire of equipment or materials.
