Ryde Pier Head parking and ticket office

Wightlink introduces new parking tariffs at Ryde Pier Head from next month (updated)

Ryde Pier Head visitors will soon have more flexible parking options.

At the moment, drivers get the first 30 minutes free. After that, the next band jumps straight to a 16-hour tariff.

Anyone wanting to make a short trip to Portsmouth or Southsea for three or four hours currently pays for 16 hours of parking, even if they only need a few.

New shorter time bands
From 1st December, Wightlink will introduce new pricing options. Drivers will be able to choose parking for up to four hours, up to six hours or up to eight hours. The first 30 minutes will still be free.

A spokesperson for Wightlink told OnTheWight that the changes follow customer feedback.

Listening to customers
The spokesperson told OnTheWight,

“Following customer feedback, we’re making it easier and more flexible for customers to park at Ryde Pier Head.

“From 1st December, we’re introducing additional time bands, giving passengers even more choice for shorter stays. The first 30 minutes will remain free. We’ll continue listening to Island residents to improve our services.”
