Wightlink Islanders had it all their own way in last night’s encounter with the USA Future touring team producing a untroubled 57-33 victory.
With a full maximum for new skipper Danny Warwick and a paid maximum for Paul Starke the Statesiders had only a single heat victory to their name which came their way when the heavens opened at the start of heat 13.
Apart from that the Islanders were relatively untroubled throughout the meeting.
The home side men led from the start bursting into a massive 18 point lead as early as heat 5.
In fact it was heat advantages or shared heats all the way until the heavens opened just as heat 13 was about to start and give the tourists a surprise 5-1 heat advantage. Two more shared heats sealed the Islanders opening fixture victory at Smallbrook.
