Once in a blue moon (well about twice a year) OnTheWight make a departure from the usual Isle of Wight news coverage to bring you some celebrity trivia.
Yes it’s that time of year again, when Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart start to fill the columns of celebrity mags and fan sites with speculation of their New Year’s Eve plans.
Back on the Island to ring in the New Year?
Now the bloodsucking love birds are back in each other’s arms, they are ‘rumoured’ to be heading to the Isle of Wight – referred to by one publication as a “private Island off the coast of England” – for a good old fashioned New Year’s Eve get-together with friends in a cosy pub, followed by a bracing New Year’s Day walk along the coast.
It seems to only take one celebrity mag to make the suggestion and a plethora follow suit. What started out as a piece of speculation about Robsten (the moniker given to the couple), has in the eyes of many publications now become fact. What a strange world we live in.
Fans of our little isle
The vampire actors were first spotted on the Island way back in 2009, when Charlotte Stockdale got in touch having seen the pair crossing the Solent. They were later snapped in Ventnor by a young Twilight fan.
The couple returned the following year and have been rumoured to do the same every year since.

If the lovebirds do decide to make the trip again this year, let’s hope the Island’s wannabe ‘pap’ leaves them alone this time to enjoy the Island, and their friends, in peace.
