VB reader, Wayne Spurge, just got in touch with a little ditty for our readers.
Apparently, the travel correspondent for Sky News said this morning that although he’d booked a holiday in Italy later in the month, if the volcanic ash continues to cause chaos he said something along the lines of “I would go to Ventnor rather than Venice” to avoid the bus trip back from Italy.
If it’s at the end of the month that he’s planning to come, it’ll feel just like Italy as The Lambretta Day Ride Out travels around the Island and hopefully makes it as far as Ventnor.
Knowing out wonderful micro-climate, it’s sure to be as warm and sunny as Venice, with the lizards already out basking in the sun most days.
You never know, we might even be able to organise a gondola or two!
