Witness Appeal After Assault Reported In Shanklin

Police TapePolice are appealing for information to identify two men after they were involved in an apparent assault reported in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight.

Officers were called at 8.50pm on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 when a member of the public saw a man being attacked by another man in Atherley Road.

A witness stopped to phone the police and attempted to help the victim who walked away from the scene with what appeared to be clothing wrapped around injuries to his head.

Description of suspect
A suspect was seen cycling away from the scene. He was described as:

> White
> Aged in his 20s
> Wearing a dark beanie hat and a white hooded top

Police are continuing enquiries to identify and find the victim and the suspect.
