Witness Appeal After Suspected Arson In Newport

FirePolice are appealing for witnesses as an investigation continues into suspected arson at a building in Newport on the Isle of Wight.

Officers were called at 3.20am on Monday, December 19, 2011 to a fire at a disused business address in Westminster Lane.

There were no reports of injuries.

Initial forensic and house-to-house enquiries were carried out at the scene and in the surrounding area.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about people seen in or near the building recently, or anyone who has shown an interest in the site.
