Sponsor the dogs and raise money for charity, with the inaugural ‘WOOF’ Festival this month.
Dog lovers can get friends and family to sponsor their pooch, or can even walk the dog of an elderly relative or friend who might not be able to make it.
The walk takes place on the last Sunday in December at Newport Quay in Newport, featuring two walks; one ‘green’ easy walk and one ‘red’ walk, for those who wish to go a little further.
A dog is for life, not just for Christmas
The aim is to bring together dog lovers and those who want to get fit for 2014, as well as making people aware that a dog is for life, not just for Christmas.
Dog walkers will be able to park for free at Newport Quay, whilst Vectis Sunrise Rotary Club will keep walkers fed with a selection of hot dogs and bacon rolls, as well as hot and cold drinks.
There will also be treats provided for dogs and plenty of checkpoints with water around the site to keep dogs happy and hydrated.
