Major works to resurface a main road in Havenstreet and improve drainage will get underway on 14 February.
A six week scheme to improve Combley Road, which runs between Station Road and Knights Cross, will also include strengthening the edge of the carriageway next to the entrance of Combley Great Wood.
A long section of road that has suffered severe pothole damage over the winter will also be resurfaced.
Sections of the verge which have been eroded will be replaced with kerbing, while outfalls and drainage collection will also be improved, lowering the risk of flooding during heavy rainfall.
Temporary lights will be in operation between 14 – 27 February for initial works, before the road is fully closed for a period of four weeks between 28 Feburary and 25 March.
Diversions will be in place during the road closure.
