Yet another severe weather warning issued for the Island

Unfortunately, it looks as though the severe weather that we’ve been experiencing over the last couple of weeks will be continuing to cause disruption for residents and commuters.

As well as the heavy rain warning for today, the Met Office have just issued the following warning, valid from 0300 to 2355 on Monday 6 January 2014.

Strong winds will combine with large waves to bring the risk of coastal flooding.

Winds will gust to 60 MPH or so on coasts, and locally to 70 MPH, but waves will be larger than usually associated with this strength.

The public should be aware of the dangers of waves crashing onshore and over topping shore lines and sea fronts.
