Young Cellist Plays Elgar Two Steps From His Honeymoon VenueFourteen year old Megan Rolf, from Aberdeen, will present a free recital of cello and piano music with local young pianist, Sally Halsey including the first movement of Elgar’s momentous cello concerto, just metres from the site of Elgar’s honeymoon abode in Alexandra Gardens, Ventnor.

Next week Megan and Sally will be playing at Ventnor Baptist Church.

Not just Elgar
The programme will also include wonderful, well-known music by Corelli, Bach, Brahms and Debussy’s Fireworks Prelude!

Sally, who has lived in Bonchurch since she was five, is becoming well known on the Island as a pianist, and is currently auditioning for music colleges.

Megan, who lives in the country near Aberdeen, is an extraordinarily talented cellist, who achieved grade eight distinction when she had only been learning cello for three years.

There will be a retiring collection for the Living Waters Village for displaced children in Borneo.
