“All the gala dinners have been great but this year was exceptional,” said Eileen Monks, Director of the Isle of Wight Youth Trust. “It has been such a difficult time for a lot of small independent charities and having the support of The Royal and Bestival to generate funds, goodwill and raise awareness has been truly heart-warming and uplifting.”

Supporting young people with drugs and alcohol issues
The monies raised by the evening will go toward the Youth Trust’s ‘Works’ programme which helps and supports young islanders experiencing issues with drugs and alcohol.

The High Sheriff, Nick Hayward, gave a speech highlighting the fact that the island has huge pockets of deprivation and some of the worst national statistics for youth drink and drug misuse. He reinforced that is why it’s so important to support the Youth Trust who provide a life saving and life-changing service to young islanders.
