Wightlink Introduce £10 ‘Turn Up and Go’ Admin Fee For Vehicle Bookings

From tomorrow (Wednesday) Wightlink will be changing the pricing structure for ‘turn up and go’ vehicle fares from their ferry terminals.

Ten pound noteAs readers may remember, back in April 2010, Wightlink introduced a £4 admin fee if vehicle bookings were made in person or through the call centre.

Wightlink tell us that “Turn up and Go bookings (ie no advance booking made) made at the port have always been charged a premium higher tariff to cover administration costs.”

All change from tomorrow
This will all change from tomorrow, when “all fares will be available at the port, but with a £10.00 administration fee.” “e assume this means they will not be subject to a ‘premium higher tariff’.

If you are able to book two hours prior to travel, you’ll only be charged the £4 admin fee rather than £10.

Bookings made online will not be liable to this administration fee, as is the practice with other transport operators and retailers.
