Janet Newton and Zoryna O Donnell:

Janet Newton & Zoryna O’Donnell appointed non-exec Board Directors at Healthwatch

Thanks to Jenny for this update from Healthwatch Isle of Wight,

Healthwatch Isle of Wight, the Island’s consumer champion for health and social care, is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Non-Executive Directors to its Board, who are keen to help ensure Healthwatch continues to make a difference for local people.

Janet Newton (Finance and Performance Improvement)
Janet (pictured on the right) has thirty years’ experience of working within the public sector and is committed to securing and providing high quality services that meet user’s needs. She has worked with many deprived, socially and ethnically divided communities and considers securing the best services, particularly for vulnerable people who would otherwise be without a voice or representation, is key to ensuring people have the best opportunities in life.

Her experience has given her a clear understanding of the challenges and issues faced, on a daily basis, by many in our society. Janet hopes to make a difference by using her time, energy and commitment to ensure individuals and communities on the Isle of Wight receive the best possible services.

Zoryna O’Donnell (Equality, Diversity and Community Outreach)
Zoryna (pictured on the left) has over 25 years of senior management experience gained while working in public, private and voluntary sectors in different countries. One of Zoryna’s strong points is partnership working at all levels both in local government and the private and voluntary sectors.

This has included leading and facilitating the work of statutory community safety partnerships and leading on a number of multi-agency projects at local, national and international levels.

Zoryna is passionate about fairness, equality, inclusion and participation. She strongly believes that all people on the Island have a key role to play in improving and shaping our local health and care services and she wants their voices to be heard by professionals who plan and deliver those services.

The Board
Janet and Zoryna join Non-Executive Director Chris Orchin and Directors Dominic Crouch, Janet Parry and Sara Mousley. Caryl Morrison was also appointed in December 2013, to replace Tony Walker as the Director representing Healthwatch Isle of Wight consortium member Community Action Isle of Wight.

Chris Orchin, Board Member, Healthwatch Isle of Wight said,

“Healthwatch Isle of Wight is very much looking forward to having these three new members on board, who I believe will each bring their own individual strengths to bolster our work helping Islanders to get the best out of local health and care services.”
