Four arrested following brutal ‘stamping’ attack on pub staff

A pub landlord and a member of his staff were left with bruising and pain after a brutal attack by customers who were “asked to keep the noise down”.

The incident happened on the evening of Wednesday, 18th February. The attack happened after a group around four men were asked to leave the Castle Inn pub in Sandown because of rowdy behaviour.

What followed was an attack which included, OnTheWight is told, one man being “stamped on”. An ambulance and the police were called.

Four men, aged 47, 48, 50 and 53 and all from the Isle of Wight were arrested.

They’ve all been bailed pending further enquiries until 23rd March.
