ARRETON:
A3056 Arreton Street
will be closed from 9am on Monday 20 April 2015 until approx. 6pm on Saturday 11 July 2015 between Downend Road and Hale Common. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage and kerbing works by Island Roads and the road will be closed to through traffic day and night. Access to premises and businesses will be maintained from one end of the road as far as possible during the works. The works will start at the junction with Downend Road and progress towards Hale Common. The alternative routes will be:
1)-A3056 Arreton Road, Sandown Road, Blackwater Shute, A3020 Blackwater Hollow, Main Road, Newport Road, High Street (Godshill), Shanklin Road, Canteen Road , Ventnor Road, A3056 Newport Road and Hale Common.
2)-Downend Road, Mersley Down Road, Brading Down Road, Bullys Hill, Hornsey Rise, A3055 Morton Road Morton Common, Broadway, Lake Hill and Sandown Road, A3056 Newport Road and Hale Common. A temporary 6ft 6in width restriction order will be introduced in a number of roads the Newchurch area including Knighton Shute, Knighton Lane, Langbridge, The Shute, High Street and Winford Road in the interests of road safety during the Arreton Street closure. Access to premises and businesses will be maintained. Temporary no waiting restriction will be in operation in Ventnor Road (Apse Heath) to assist with traffic flow. BEMBRIDGE:
High Street
(outside 76). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation on from 8.30am on Tuesday 19 May until approx. 4.30pm on Friday 22 May 2015 for the installation of a new gas connection by Southern Gas Networks. BRADING:
Marshcombe Shute.
One way restriction. A one way restriction is in operation in Marshcombe Shute in an Eastbound direction (towards Bembridge) from a point 45 metres to the East of Yarbridge Crossroads to Yaverland Road junction from 3.30pm on Tuesday 16 September 2014. The one way restriction is necessary due to the installation of larger temporary safety barriers which have been erected in the interests of road safety by Island Roads adjacent to the railway and River Yar bridges. The vehicle restraint options for B3395 Marshcombe Shute are being considered in consultation with interested parties. Because of the steps that need to be taken before work can begin on site, it is expected that the scheme will be completed by June 2015. The one way system will also stay in place until the works are completed. A full road closure of a few days will be required. The alternative route for all traffic travelling in a Westbound towards Yarbridge Crossroads Brading direction will be; B3395 Yaverland Road and Culver Parade, Fort Street, Avenue Road A3055 Morton Road and Morton Common. The one- way restriction will then be removed. The 6ft 6in width restriction in Yaverland Road, Yaverland will be temporarily suspended whilst the one way restriction is in operation. High Street will be closed from 9am on Monday 27 April 2015 until 5pm on Friday 1 May 2015 between Market Hill and Fountain Quay (The entrance to the Red Funnel Terminal). The closure is for the renewal of the sewer pipeline outside of 45 High Street, Cowes by MCM Construction. The one way restriction in High Street will be temporarily suspended to allow access during the closure. The alternative route will be: High Street, Bath Road, The Parade, Castle Hill, Baring Road, Ward Avenue, Park Road and Terminus Road. EAST COWES:
Esplanade
will be closed from 2.30pm on Friday 25 April 2014 for the foreseeable future between 375 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road and the end of the highway 860 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road. There is no alternative route for traffic. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road due to a landslip. LAKE:
Ranalagh Road / Cliff Road / Cliff Path
. From 1200hrs on Friday 18 July 2014 for the foreseeable future the following roads / path will be closed to vehicular traffic: Cliff Road / Cliff Path will be closed from point 55 metres to the northwest of the junction with Ranalagh Road to point 185 metres to the south west of the junction with Cliff Gardens (the southern boundary of number 6). Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road. During the period of closure there is no alternative route for vehicles. NEWPORT:
Mill Street
will be closed from 9am on Monday 30 March until approx. 6pm on Friday 3 July 2015 between Old Westminster Lane and the end of the highway 35 metres to the Northwest. The closure is necessary for highway development works including the construction of a new junction onto Foxes Road by Aeropark Developments for Barrett Homes. There is no diversion route for traffic, however vehicular access will be maintained as far as possible. Public Footpath N120 will be closed to pedestrians from 6am on Friday 6 March until 6am on Sunday 6 September 2015 between; A point 474 metres north to a point 516 metres north of the northern boundary of Seaclose Recreation Ground and a point 585 metres north to a point 607 metres north of the northern boundary of Seaclose Recreation Ground. The diversion route for pedestrians is through adjacent woodland at each location. Local path closures are required in the interests of pedestrian safety whilst footbridges are closed at the Footbridge B319 at South Fairlee Farm and the Footbridge B318 at The Roundhouse. Newport Road
will be closed from Laceys Lane to Southford Lane. The closure will be in operation between 6.30am and 6pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Tuesday 5 May and Tuesday 12 May 2015 for resurfacing works by Island Roads. NORTHWOOD:
Pallance Road.
Is now open to traffic between Rew Street and Nodes Road. The section of road between Pallance Lane and Woodside Close will be resurfaced by Island Roads once British Telecom works have been complete, on approx. Wednesday 6 May 2015.

ROOKLEY:
Niton Road
was closed on each night (Mondays to Thursdays only) from 6.30pm until 6am between Thursday 23 April and Wednesday 22 April 2015 from A3020 Main Road to Chequers Inn Road. RYDE:
Great Preston Road
will be closed from Harding Road to Nicholson Road and Harding Road will be closed from Great Preston Road to Victoria Crescent between 9am (today) Wednesday 22 April and approx. 4pm on Friday 8 May 2015 for urgent sewer repair works by Fitzsimmons Dynorod for Southern Water. The works are located at the junction of Great Preston Road and Carlton Road. Diversion Route: Great Preston Road, Alexandra Road, Appley Road, Marlborough Road and Great Preston Road. Cross Street will be closed from Melville Street to Union Street from 9am on Monday 20 April until approx. 6am on Friday 1 May 2015. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage and kerbing works by Island Roads and the road will be closed to traffic day and night. The one way restriction in Cross Street will be temporarily suspended to allow access to premises and businesses. The one way restriction in Castle Street will be reversed from a west to east direction to an east to west direction (between George Street and Union Road) to allow access to Castle Street and Union Road during the Cross Street closure. Diversion route: George Street, Star Street, High Street, Green Street, West Street and Lind Street and Melville Street, Dover Street, Esplanade and St Thomas Street. A temporary southbound one way restriction will also be in operation in St Thomas Street (between Yelfs Road and Lind Street) to assist with traffic flow, during the closure. ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive
will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton. Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation for the foreseeable future. Access to businesses and attractions in Undercliff Drive will be maintained. During the period of closure the alternative route for traffic will be; Pedestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Public Footpath V81, V77, NT28, NT29, NT30 and A3055 Undercliff Drive. Public Footpath T13 Colmar Way
will be closed to pedestrians from 9am until 3.30pm on each day between Wednesday 29 April 2015 and Wednesday 6 May 2015 (except between Saturday 2 May and Bank Holiday Monday 4 May 2015) inclusive.
